Only one of the parks we've been to on this trip has charged, and I believe that was $5/per vehicle fee at Chickamauga/Chattanooga (but might be mistaken). This is relatively unusual given our experience. Certainly if you hit the large parks--Yosemite, Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, etc--you should expect to pay a fee of up to $20/carload. However, you can also purchase an annual parks pass for $80 that gets you into every national park, plus all federally-managed public lands (national forests, wildlife refuges, etc) for free. That's what we've been doing for several years now - with our trips, it pays for itself in just a few days.

If you're interested in putting together a national park trip, give me a call or email; I can provide lots of advice on both how to do it and where to go.

I can't believe just how many parks there are out there. Are they all free? If so, I might consider doing that for our first vacation as a family.

[...] With Kim suffering from a third day of being sick, I decided to take a couple hours and hit the lanes with an old bowling pal. I had a pretty decent afternoon, scoring a 217, 216, and 212, for a quite respectable 215 average. It’s one of the highest 600 series I’ve ever had. I wonder if it was having two days off this weekend off (a rarity in the last year or so), or if it might have been my own rebuttal to Kim’s record-breaking last week. I’m not sure, but it certainly made for an enjoyable afternoon. Too bad Kim was stuck at home.
Update, <a href="http://www.azcentral.com/sports/asu/articles/1208asucoachupdate-CR.html" rel="nofollow">the Republic</a> is now reporting that interviews will occur this weekend, with a hire not occurring until next week.

The trio is still named, though I'm hoping that it's still a smokescreen for a better candidate.
