10,000 B.C. (2008)
1.5/5
I was really shocked at how utterly bad and unbelievable this movie was. For all the money they spent to make it, I'm surprised any studio would give a green light to a script like that. Ouch.

300 (2006)
4/5
Some tremendous cinematic and computer graphic shots, but the story seemed a bit over the top for me.

A River Reborn: The Restoration of Fossil Creek
4/5
Nice documentary detailing the plight of Fossil Creek in Arizona and the campaign to decommission the Childs and Irving power plants, remove the Fossil Creek Dam, and restore this desert river.

Accepted (2006)
4/5
Slightly cheesy, but with some good unexpected laughs tucked in here and there.

American Gangster (2007)
4.5/5
Pretty good movie about the drug wars and black "mafia" in the 70s. I've heard that many of the films details were not quite true, but I still found it to be an enjoyable movie.

Babel (2006)
3/5
I know everyone else seemed to love this movie, but I just didn't find it particularly moving.

Beerfest (2006)
1/5
While it was made by the same guys as Super Troopers, it had a fraction of the laughs and an even worse script. I gave up after about 40 minutes. Thank goodness I didn't have any expectations to begin with.

Blackballed: The Bobby Dukes Story (2004)
1.5/5
A bit of a mockumentary, but not funny enough to keep me watching. There were a few laughs, and I've heard that it really gets funny in the second half of the movie, but I didn't have the patience to wait and see.

Bobby (2006)
3/5
Well, I didn't read the description closely enough, because I was expecting a movie about RFK and instead got a movie intertwining the stories of 22 different people connected by the assassination.

Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit...
1.5/5
Hmm. A few funny parts, but that's about it.

An odd movie with some very interesting characters.

Bush's Brain (2004)
1.5/5
I was expecting much more from this documentary, such as a real examination of Rove's tactics and better evidence of his influence in the Bush Administration and the broader conservative movement, but the film seemed more like an attack ad than necessary.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005)
2/5
Kinda weird and significantly different than the original.

Clerks. (1994)
2/5
Cultural icon, I know. While this movie broke new ground and showed the fruitless lives so many lived, it wasn't _that_ great of a movie.

Click (2006/I)
2/5
While there are a few funny parts, and a generally good lesson, I really wasn't taken with the movie. Sandler seemed to try far too hard to execute the laughs, and he just isn't meant for the kind of drama this movie aspired for.

Cry-Baby (1990)
1/5
I just didn't enjoy it; the over the top nature coupled with such ridiculous dialogue made it hard to sit through.

Did We Go?
2/5
Interesting movie about the conspiracy theorists that claim we didn't land on the moon.

Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd (2003)
0.5/5
God what a horrible movie. How dare they soil the good name of the original Dumb and Dumber. I rented this twice, but couldn't get past the first 25 minutes either time.

Embedded (2005) (V)

A taped performance of a live theater satire of the ideologues behind the Iraq War and the media that failed us.

Employee of the Month (2006)
4/5
Good showing in Dane Cook's premiere as a leading man. Jessica Simpson was not as bad as she could have been. Some nice jokes related to employee culture, but not enough to make this a favorite.

Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room (2005)
4/5
Pretty decent treatment of the Enron scandal, from the roots of the company and its philosophy, to the cooperation of major financial institutions and accounting firms in helping create the smoke and mirrors Enron's now famous for.

Epic Movie (2007)
1.5/5
Not nearly as funny as its sibling spoof movies, Epic Movie included an insane number of movie and pop culture references. However, the terrible acting and horrendously bad script made sitting through its 86 minutes somewhat difficult.

Fargo (1996)
3.5/5
Good but certainly not great movie. Not sure why it was so critically-acclaimed.

Fast Food Nation (2006)
3.5/5
Lots of content and references, but it just didn't do justice to the impact of the book - at least for me.

Finally got around to seeing it, but wasn't as impressed as I thought I'd be, given the cult status of the movie.

Get Smart (2008)
4/5
Incorporated some nice flashbacks to the original and stayed mostly within the frame the show set. Not bad for the sequel.

4.5/5
A pretty good documentary about the lost boys of Sudan and their journey to America.

A somewhat inspiring football movie that had its sappy and painfully obvious scenes. While some of the dialog seemed poor, you gain a better appreciation for it during the credits, when they play the original footage from the real-life team and coach. The Rock and Xzibit did a decent job pulling off their respective roles.
