Wilderness areas I’ve visited

After thumbing through one of my hiking books on Arizona wilderness areas in Arizona, I realized how very few of them I’ve visited.  Sure, I’ve been to the more popular ones, like the Superstitions and the two in Sedona, on a great many occasions.  But, I’ve still only managed to visit about 10% of them, mostly because I haven’t owned a high clearance 4WD vehicle.  Lots of people worked very hard to get those places designated–and I call many of them colleagues–so I thought it made sense to set another outings goal: to visit each wilderness area in the state.  I’m still without the the necessary vehicle, but I hope to change that soon.  My progress is listed below; you can see which areas I’ve “marked off” the list and how many (!) I still have left to experience.
