I’m busy enough trying to catch up on things that I had neglected during the Ironwood Forest comment period. But several new things have popped up in the meantime, most notably working with the new NSC Foundation on friends groups stuff, as well as spending more time doing FAFNM stuff now that our outreach coordinator has left.

Since I was already past my burn-out point (reached that about a month ago), it’s tough to put in the 60-70 hour weeks when all i can think about is the great roadtrip Kim and I have coming up.

Kim and I spent most of the day today planning out our July roadtrip. It’s our ten year anniversary, so we’re going being quite ambitious, but I think it’s really going to be a great trip. The main attraction is a visit to Glacier National Park, but we’ll also be hitting a long list of other, nearly-as-cool places:

-Battle of Little Bighorn
-Great Basin National Park
-Devil’s Tower
-Craters of the Moon
-Pompey’s Pillar
-Mt Rushmore
-Theodore Roosevelt National Park
-Badlands
-Wind and Jewel Caves
-a bunch of other cool places.

We have several different options for the last week of the trip; we’ll make the decision on the fly depending on how we feel. In all, we’ll likely be hitting a little over 30 destinations (about 25 of those National Park Service sites), between 13-17 different states, and driving anywhere from 5600-6600 miles. And, of course, creating hundreds of lasting memories.
